Motorcycle Ministry Ride—Sun., July 15—Ride For Kids; Meet at Our Saviour’s at 8:00 a.m.


Happening This Week

Pub Theology at Hidden Haven—Mon., July 16, 6:00 p.m. This discussion is for Christians of any stripe: people who’ve been burned or burned out on church, those who believe in God, or don’t. Come and have a beer/beverage of choice and join in the lively discussion.

Thursday Morning Quilters Needed—Meet Thurs., July 19, at 9:00 a.m. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. Presently the group is making quilts for girls in local rehabilitation centers. Training provided!

Join the East Bethel Parade—July 21, 11:00 a.m. Be a part of the parade on the Our Saviour’s float. There will also be an OSLC booth at Booster Days, from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. There are one hour time slots available to run the booth. A sign up for both the parade and booth are on the kiosk in the Rotunda, or contact Michele Kolodjski, 763-434-6117 or

Children/Youth/Family

Trip to Valleyfair—Thurs., Aug. 2, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., for 6th-12th graders. Deadline to sign up and fill out an off-site registration form is July 26. Cost: $40 (or $10 for transportation only—if you have a pass)

StoryWalk Sept. 9 to Sept. 16—A children's book will be displayed though out our garden.  Feel free to walk the garden path, read the book and enjoy the great outdoors anytime during this week. Book: Hold This is geared for ages 3-7.


Preschool

Preschool Day Camp - August 13-16, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. For children age 3 (by May 1) through 5 (pre-kindergarten). Join Our Saviour’s Preschool as we dive into the wonderful rhymes of author Karen Beaumont! Each day will be filled with stories, art activities, and games based on a different Karen Beaumont book. The cost is $55; bring a bag lunch each day with child's name on it. Register today! Child must be toilet-trained.

Classic Cars at the Chapel - Wed. July 18! If you have a classic car and don't mind a dirt road, we'd LOVE to have you bring your car(s) to Our Saviour's Chapel on the 18th, at 6:00 p.m. People coming for 6:30 worship will be able to take a peek before worship, then spend more time taking a closer look at the cars while enjoying their after-worship ice cream. (There's ice cream after worship every Wed. night in the summer!) The chapel is at 2200 Swedish Drive, Ham Lake.

Little Dresses for Africa—Thurs., July 26, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at Our Saviour’s. Join this partnership group to sew for mission. A schedule is available at the Small Group board in the Rotunda. Bead Ministry—Thurs., June 28, 7:00 p.m., in Pastor Maria’s office. Join this fun group in making beaded items for ministry. Beaders of all abilities welcome!

Lutheran Night at the Twins Hosted by Thrivent Community Cornerstone—Tues., July 31, meet at Glen Cary Lutheran Church (15531 Central Ave NE, Ham Lake); bus leaves at 4:30 p.m. On our way to Target Field we will stop at Twin Cities Kids In Need and pack backpacks for needy kids. Mark Your Calendar

Seasoned Adult Ministry (SAM) to Cedar Creek Natural History Area—Wed., Aug. 8, 10:00 a.m. meet at Cedar Creek Natural History Area,  2660 Fawn Lake Drive NE, East Bethel, for an inside lecture and a driving tour to see the bison that are there for the summer. Cost: $5. Be sure to sign up on the Small Group Ministry board in the Rotunda.

Family Promise Week—August 5-12. Consider helping with this ministry by serving during this host week. Contact Jan Berqual, berqual@msn.com, to sign up. Family Promise in Anoka County is a network of area congregations who provide temporary housing to families without homes. Our Saviour's partners with Glen Cary in hosting families from Family Promise.

Fall Family Fun Fest 2018—Sun., Sept. 9, 9:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. Plans are underway for the this fun day. As in past years, the day will be filled with great food prepared by the Guatemala mission trip volunteers, the large pool with the hamster balls, Josh’s slot cars, family activities, bubbles, water balloon sling shot. New this year: balloon art and face painting by Jenna from Kids Call This A Party. Interested in helping the day of the Fun Fest? Contact the church office.


You Can Help

July is Water Month for Jesus Refills Ministry—Jesus Refills serves meals to the homeless in St. Paul each week. Help them have enough bottled water to give to patrons throughout the summer. Donations of bottled water can be dropped off by the Jesus Refills donation box in the coat hallway. Thanks for caring for those in need.

Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless - Throughout the month of July the NACE Food Shelf will be collecting funds for this summer’s "Kid Friendly" lunches. The more that is given in July, the larger the NACE Open Your Heart grant will be. The challenge fund will proportionally match your donations. NACE is able to purchase food from the food bank at pennies on the pound. $55 will purchase 450 pounds of food and feed families between 3-6 days. Checks should be payable to NACE (NACE, PO Box 2, Cedar, MN 55011), or give on-line at GiveMN.org - (choose NACE as your non-profit).

Infants and Toddlers

Nursery is provided at the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. services for children 3 and under, though it is strongly encouraged that children and their parents worship together. The nursery is staffed by caring adults and youth.
