Women’s Retreat: Laughter Is the Best Medicine—Sat., March 2, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Women of all ages, this is a day away just for you. Speaker is Jean Abbott, a young mom of three kids who has appeared on the TODAY Show sharing her inspirational story, which she’s chronicled in her book Misdiagnosed: My Thirty-Year Struggle with a Debilitating Disorder I Never Had. Preschool Registration—OSLC Preschool Registration has begun for the 2019-20 school year for members/current students. Our Saviour’s 4-Star Christian Preschool program offers children a quality Christian education in a secure, nurturing environment. Brochures and registration forms are available by the Children/Youth board or at oursaviourslc.org. On Thurs., Feb. 7, 5:30 p.m., there will be a Preschool Community Open House. Registration begins for the community on Fri., Feb. 15.
Family Mardi Gras Tuesday—Tuesday, March 5, 5:30-7:00 p.m., for ages birth through 109. Celebrate Mardi Gras with your church family. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with face painting, a family craft, games, and FUN! A pancake and French toast dinner for all begins at 6:00 p.m. At 6:45 p.m. there will be a Blessing Service looking toward Lent. A free will offering will be taken to help support Children’s Ministry. Come with your family and be with your church family! Children are welcome to come in their pajamas!
St. Patrick’s Day PotLUCK and UNOParty—Sun., March 17, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., for age uno through 109. This will be the numero Uno St. Patrick’s Day celebration in town! There will be a potLUCK at the end of the rainbow, or in our case, 10:00 a.m. worship! Please bring a dish to share (bonus points awarded if the food is green or Irish! So, get creative with your green food coloring or corned beef!) Uno games will begin after lunch. Don’t know what Uno is or how to play? No worries, Uno is a very fun card game that is easy to follow—we will teach you! It is fun for all ages! May the luck of the Irish be with you! Come with your family or come to be with your church family!
Bible Instruction Class—Saturday, March 23, 9:00 a.m., meet in the Worship Space. Grade 2 students, to receive your NLT Bible, you and a parent are asked to attend this Bible Class. Bible Presentation for Second Graders—Sun., March 24, 10:00 a.m. worship; Wed., March 27, 6:30 p.m. worship. Bibles will be presented to all 2nd grade and new 3rd-5th grade students (who have not received a Bible). To receive a Bible, be sure to attend the Bible Instruction Class described above.
Global Health Ministries (GHM) Confirmation Hosted Service—Tues., April 2, 6:30-8:00 p.m. This family service night is open to the congregation! GHM is a volunteer-powered organization partnering with Lutheran efforts globally to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the communities served. GHM welcomes youth groups to sort and pack donated medical supplies or help with quality control checks. Early registration for confirmation students and guides is Feb 20-March 9; open to the congregation March 10-27. Meet and pickup at Global Health Ministries: 7831 Hickory Street NE, Fridley 55432. ALL volunteers MUST have a waiver filled out to participate. Waivers can be found at the Children/Youth board or online at oursaviourslc.org/forms. 30 Hour Famine—Fri., April 26, 6:00 p.m., through Sat., April 27, 7:00 p.m., for grades 6 and up (must be 12+ by the day of the event) Informational Meeting: Sun., Feb. 24, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Youth Room. Every year, hundreds of thousands of students in the U.S. — and thousands more around the world — unite through World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine to feed hungry children and families. We will learn about life in Africa as we take part in “Trek Challenges: Africa.” We will play games, worship, take part in service projects and so much more! We will stay the night at church and at the end of our time together, we will share a fabulous meal! Deadline to sign up is April 14. Cost is $20. 30 Hour Famine Prep Lockin: Fri., March 15, 6:00 p.m. through Sat., March 16, 9:30am. Lockin is for 30 Hour Famine participants only.
Zero Gravity—Sat., March 30, 12:15-2:45 p.m., for grades 6-12+. Meet at and pick up from: Zero Gravity, 2292 Woodale Drive, Mounds View. Eat lunch prior to arriving (not right before jumping though!) Friends are more than welcome! The cost is $20.00/person which includes two hours of trampoline time + wristband for 2 attractions; socks required.(CYF Credits can be used for this event—fill out the CYF Credit Withdrawal Form found below the Children/Youth Board.) Vacation Bible School: Roar! God Is Good—June 17-20, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., for age 4 through grade 5 completed. Cost due with registration: $35 per child, max household cost $80. Seasoned Adult Ministry (SAM) - Tues., March 26, 9:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Enjoy a guided tour of the Walker Art Center and lunch at the Market Grill in Brooklyn Park HyVee grocery store (on your own) There will be a short presentation on the history of HyVee. Cost: $25 (tour and bus) + lunch. At least 20 participants are required. Sign up on the Small Group board in the Rotunda, as soon as possible. Payment is required by March 17. Wednesday Lenten Dramas: They Were There. This year, you're invited to sit in on the "broadcast" of the fictional public radio show Talking About, where vivid characters from the last days of Jesus' life are interviewed. Judas, Barabbas, Pilate, Pilate's Wife, and Peter are asked about their lives, what led them to the tragic event of Jesus' death, and what they would say to us in the 21st century. Dramas will be presented at both Wednesday services.
Sunday Lent Preaching Series: Digging Into Worship - Why do we do what we do in worship? You’ve asked that at some point, haven’t you? It’s okay – we know! As we move through the season of Lent this year, focusing on returning to God, we’ll dig into worship as well and return to the “why” of these pieces of worship. March 10 – Confession & Absolution; March 17 – Creeds; March 24 – Prayers & the Lord’s Prayer; March 31 – Sharing the Peace & Communion; April 1 – Songs & Singing

Meditation Garden Team - this team is looking for a new coordinator. The team coordinator is responsible to schedule monthly meetings (3rd Tuesday of the month - Feb.-May; Oct.-Nov.), set agenda, send out minutes, schedule a room with OSLC. Coordinate hospitality dates, organize who is working the different shifts, and who is bringing what. Coordinate the weekly garden work in the summer months, what tools are needed, order mulch for gardens. If you love gardening and are looking for a place to use your gifts at Our Saviour’s, please consider this opportunity! Endowment Scholarships—Our Saviour's Endowment Committee will be awarding five $500 scholarships in June. The scholarships are for pursuing an undergraduate degree or for education to grow in Christian faith. Applications are available at the Reception Desk. Completed application forms MUST be returned to the Endowment Committee mailbox by Sunday, May 19.
