Cathy joined the staff as the youth choir director in 2001. For five years, Cathy directed the youth choirs and led the music during large group confirmation sessions.
Cathy accepted the position of Power Up music director in the fall of 2014. Since accepting this position, Power Up, has been renamed IGNITE worship. The worship is held every Wednesday evening when there is programming at 6:30 pm.
In the spring of 2015, Cathy also accepted the role of contemporary worship music leader at Servant of Christ Church in Champlin, MN. She leads their contemporary worship on Sunday mornings. Cathy retired from 32 years of teaching music to concentrate on her new career as a worship music leader.
Cathy, husband Matt and sons, Tyler, Gavin, Derek and Connor joined Our Saviour’s in 2001.
Cathy’s family now includes a daughter-in-law, Rosa, and granddaughter, Elena.
When asked how her faith had been nurtured by Our Saviour’s, Cathy said “When I became a member at OSLC, I was swept away by the worship music. It spoke to me in a way that I hadn’t experienced in any other church.”
Cathy is passionate about spending as much time as possible outdoors in every season. She likes to run, ski, bike, canoe, hike, snowshoe, play volleyball and go boating.
If she is given a day to day whatever she wanted, she would want to spend it by the water with her entire family. Three of her sons are presently serving in the military, so time together is especially rare and cherished.
