Stamping Ministry Card Sale—TODAY between services will be having a Card Sale on Sun., Nov. 17. Mark your calendar and stop by with your card list. 

Baptism Class—new day and time Sun., Nov. 17, 11:15 a.m. Our  Saviour’s requires that all families wishing to bring a small child or infant to be baptized attend a one-hour baptism class. Happening This Week

Old Testament Bible Study—Monday, 18, 9:30-10:45 a.m. You are invited to join this Monday morning Bible study on the first and third Mondays. The study will continue with the stories of the descendants of Abraham. For Nov. 18 read Numbers 13:25-14:45.

Quilting Blocks in Stages—Tuesday, Nov. 19, 6:30 p.m. This group meets the first and the third Tuesdays. Join the group to work on mission quilts for places such as NACE Food Shelf, Alexandra House, and more.

Pub Theology—Mon., Nov. 18, 6:00 p.m., at Hidden Haven. Discussions are for Christians of any stripe: people who’ve been burned or burned out on church, those who believe in God, or don’t. Join the group for beverages and lively discussion.

Thursday Morning Quilters—Thursday, Nov. 21, 9:00 a.m. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thurs. of each month.  Please join the group in making quilts for mission.

Bead Ministry—Thurs., Nov. 21, 7:00 p.m. Do you love to make things from beads or want to learn to make things from beads? Join this group for beading and fellowship in room 116. Beaders of all abilities welcome! Questions? Contact Karen Bush, bushfamily4@q.com.

Dinner’s at 6:30 NEW DAY, SAME TIME—Thurs., Nov. 21, at Rose Garden, 10565 University Ave NE, Blaine. The Dinner’s group is going to start meeting on Thursday instead of Friday. Advent Family Night—Thur., Nov. 21, 5:45-7:00 p.m., for families with children ages birth through 5th grade. This fun evening is a time for you and your family to come together and prepare your hearts for your Advent journey! Spend time with Advent activities followed by an Advent family blessing. The evening will end with Christmas cookies and milk! Little ones are welcome to wear their pajamas to this event! Feel free to invite extended family and friends for this special evening! Questions? Nursery News

Ann McArdle has resigned as our Nursery Coordinator. Ann’s last day will be Sunday Nov. 24. Please thank Ann between now and then for the work that she has done! We are currently looking for volunteers to run the nursery until this role is filled. To volunteer in the nursery, volunteers must be at least 18, must have completed background check on file, and have been an active member for at least six months. Please note that the nursery may  be closed if there is no volunteer for that day. Please consider helping out once-a-month! Speak to Kate Roettger, Director of Children’s Ministry, to volunteer. 


Children/Youth/Family

Lunch at the North Pole—Sat., Dec. 7, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Come join us for lunch, games, a craft, and a picture with Santa. Cost is $5 per person, $20 max per family.

OSLC Kids Christmas Program: Christmas Carol Special Report—Sun., Dec. 8, at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m.; Wed., Dec. 11, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Join the children of Our Saviour’s for this memorable worship service. The children will bring to life what it means to be a part of God’s family tree and the importance of sharing His love with others. Come to celebrate the kids of OSLC and be reminded of God’s love.

Sunday School Basket Auction—Sun., Dec. 8. Consider creating and donating a basket or additional items. All donations are greatly appreciated! Items must be donated by Sat. Dec. 7, 9:00 a.m. Winners will be announced shortly after 11:30 a.m.

Quake Youth Event—March 13-15, 2020, for 6th grade through college-age, at Mpls/St. Paul Airport Mall of America. Explore faith, Christian living, a life of ministry, and leadership… through speakers, music, breakout sessions, and so much more amazingness! Quake Speaker: Dan ScharnhorstDan is able to share the power of the Gospel message through stories and humor. Musician: 100 White Flags—has a unique sound that fuses progressive rock with hints of blues and folk influence. Cost: Early Bird $155 (add $15 for a t-shirt); after Dec. 31 the cost is $175. You are considered registered once your payment is received. Make checks payable to Our Saviour’s, with “Quake” and the participant name in memo. November Happenings

Library Book Sale—Nov. 17 and Nov. 24, 8:00 a.m.-noon. The Tree of Life Library, in conjunction with the Red Balloon Bookstore, will be hosting this sale. Books that will entice all ages to read, will be available for purchase. This will be a great opportunity to check off some items on your Christmas shopping list! Proceeds from the book sale will support the Tree of Life library.

Thanksgiving Eve Worship – Wed., Nov. 27, 6:30 p.m. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to worship, giving thanks to God for all good things! Enjoy pie and conversation following worship. Please bring a pie to share with your church family.

Military Care Package Assembly – Sunday, November 24, 11:00 a.m. It’s care package time again. The Military Care Ministry will be assembling and mailing packages to troops overseas. Your help is needed to make this happen.

Mark Your Calendar

Seasoned Adult Ministry – Tues., Dec. 3, 8:45 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. SAM will be taking a bus to the Norway House in Minneapolis to view the Holiday Gingerbread exhibit and tour the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church. After lunch at Stouts Pub, the group will be dropped off at the “historical” entrance to Como Park Conservatory (less walking) to see the Christmas flower exhibit. Cost:  $19 plus your lunch. Sign up (on the Small Group Ministry board) and payment deadline is Sun., Nov. 24.  

Blue Christmas Worship—Thurs., Dec. 5, 6:30 p.m., at the Chapel in Ham Lake. At Our Saviour’s, we realize that the holidays can be difficult for many. If you have experienced the death of a loved one, a divorce, loss of health or job, take this opportunity to gather with others who are struggling and hungering for the gift of the Christ-child’s promise of new life. The light of Christ shines in the darkness. 

Christmas Cookie Swap—Fri., Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m. Join the fun at the Family Cookie Exchange and enjoy a great selection of cookies for the holidays. Sign up on the Kiosk if you are interested in baking cookies to exchange. The group will enjoy a classic Christmas movie, following the cookie swap.

Pipe Organ Demonstration (a SAM sponsored event open to all)Mon., Dec. 9, 1:30 p.m. Join your friends at Our Saviour’s for a pipe organ demonstration. We’ll listen, learn, and sing carols with Ken Lowenberg (Donna Nelson’s brother). Ken has recently retired from a career as a well known church organist in the Washington D.C. area. Stay for coffee and cookies afterwards.  

Merry & Bright: a Big Band Christmas Special – Fri., Dec. 13, 7:00 p.m. If you enjoyed the Brooklyn United Methodist Big Band in worship last June, you’ll love hearing them in a Christmas concert! Be sure to join us for this fun, special concert that is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. Director David Mantini will lead his 18-piece Big Band in all your favorite Christmas songs. Hospitality will be provided by the OSLC Music Department. Tickets are General Seating: Adults $10, Youth 12 and under $7. Tickets are available in the church office or online at oursaviourslc.org/christmas-concert.

Hotdish Day! – Sun., Dec. 15, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Like a bake sale … but with ready-to-bake meals! Support Mission Trip 2020 youth by purchasing ready-to-bake hotdishes, soups, and more. Find the youth at the Hotdish Table in the Rotunda. Different dietary needs and serving sizes will be available.

Care in the Community: Songs, Gathering, and Call to Action—Saturday, January 18, 2:00 p.m., for all ages. Join us for this community Justice Choir! ​A Justice Choir is a template to encourage more group singing for social justice. Designed around the Justice Choir Songbook, the goal is a grassroots movement to engage in the empathetic, collaborative, and collective power of singing together to create change. With speakers from local care facilities, the afternoon will touch on hunger/poverty, mental health/suicide, and immigration in our community. Never heard of a Justice Choir? Women: Want a Weekend Away? Camp Wapo is offering the Women’s Renew Retreat January 31-February 2, 2020. Details & registration are at campwapo.org/events. Scroll down and click on the Renew Wapo Women’s Retreat. Theme is Jesus and Women, Through Middle Eastern Eyes. The Bible study leader is Pastor Paul Oman, a talented artist who does Drawn to the Word at Wapo when our youth campers are there. Wednesday Worship

revelation worship [ rev-uhley-shuhn ] Noun. A worship experience where we discover surprising, unknown facts about God and Community.
Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Come join us in a different worship experience and discover God in a unique way. This half-hour worship will include a new music format, a new way of experiencing communion, and a new way of praying. All are welcome!

Nursery is provided at the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. services for children 3 and under, though it is strongly encouraged that children and their parents worship together. The nursery is staffed by caring adults and youth.
