Lent – a Season of Hope

This year we’re looking at Lent as a Season of Hope. Why? Because we could all use some hope! And because the season of Lent leads to Jesus’ resurrection on Easter, the ultimate event that gives us hope for today, for tomorrow, and for eternity. As we move closer to Easter, our hope increases along with the hours of daylight each day.

Holden Evening Prayer Services – Wednesdays, Feb. 24 through March 24, 6:00 p.m.

This service will premiere each week on Facebook and YouTube. A different family from the congregation will share a hope-filled message, each week, including stories from their daily lives.

Holden Evening Prayer was written in 1985-86 while Marty Haugen was the musician-in-residence at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in Washington state. This lovely setting of vespers follows the traditional form while using contemporary and inclusive language.
