Special Event: ’13th’ Racial Injustice Documentary & Discussion

Sunday, July 19, 5:30-8:30 p.m., for Age 17+

Join your Our Saviour’s family in the viewing and discussion of this documentary. ’13th’ (Rated TV-MA for language) is an in-depth look at the prison system in the United States and how it reveals the nation’s history of racial inequality.

At 6:00 p.m., we will watch the documentary via Netflix Party.  We will follow the viewing with a  Zoom discussion guided by Leisha, Director of Confirmation & Youth Ministries.

We will reflect on the contents of the documentary and on our current community crises.  This is not a political conversation and there will be boundaries set at the beginning of our discussion to provide a safe place for each person’s participation.

How to join Netflix Party:
  • You need to have a Netflix Account and Google Chrome available on a desktop computer or laptop. Go to and “Install Netflix Party” (it’s free).
  • Once Netflix Party is installed, you’ll notice an “NP” to the right of your address bar in Chrome.
  • At 5:00 p.m. the day of, the link will be posted on Our Saviour’s Facebook page. Sign into your Netflix account then click that link posted on the Facebook page and you will be brought to the movie.
  • Once you get to the movie, click on the “NP” to the right of your address bar to connect with other church family members.
  • Don’t have Facebook access?  Email Leisha, Director of Confirmation & Youth Ministries, at that you would like the link emailed to you the day of the event.  Then watch your email at 5:00 p.m. for the link.
