Worship on Sundays at Our Saviour’s
Traditional Sunday Worship
8:30 a.m. – Our traditional worship setting is based on liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship. Come experience God’s love for you through scripture readings, insightful and pertinent sermons, confession and forgiveness, the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism, prayer, the Celebration Choir, handbells, song leaders, and traditional hymnody accompanied by pipe organ. This majestic setting retains the best of traditional Lutheran worship.
Contemporary Sunday Worship
10:00 a.m. – Our contemporary worship setting speaks to a rapidly changing world. Here we embrace innovative sounds, instrumentation, technologies – modern tools of communication, to express God’s love to a world in need. This contemporary worship is energized with popular Christian music, modern arrangements of well-known hymns, children’s and adult choirs, handbells, and other special music (led by highly skilled musicians and supported by rock-solid sound technicians).
October 20, 2019 – 19th Sunday after Pentecost
Preacher: Deacon Glenndy Ose
During Worship – This time is set aside for being with God in a meaningful, intentional way. Everyone worships God uniquely – for many, that means singing and clapping along, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. All you will need to participate in worship is projected on the screen in the Worship Space. There are Bibles located in the pew racks in front of you if you want to read along with the scripture lesson and Gospel for the day. If you don’t have your own Bible at home, please take one as Our Saviour’s gift to you.
The Message – Every week you will hear an engaging message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.
Holy Communion – Every Sunday we celebrate communion together. All who believe that Jesus is present in the bread and the wine are invited to come to the altar. At Our Saviour’s we celebrate Holy Communion in the style of intinction. As you come to the communion station, please hold out your hand and the server will place a wafer in your hand. Gluten free wafers are available at all communion stations. Dip the wafer into either the chalice of wine held by the server or the cup of grape juice in the center of the wafer plate. After you have eaten the Meal, you may return to your seat. Children who do not yet receive communion are invited to come forward for a blessing.
Prayers for Wholeness and Healing – On the first Sunday of every month, anyone with special prayer concerns who would like someone to pray with them and receive a blessing are invited to come to one of two stations located in the front of the church near the windows or in the back of the church near the windows.
Help us Connect with You – We want to know when you have worshipped with us. Please sign the pew pad as it is passed during worship and check the boxes that pertain to you and how we can be of service.
Join us for refreshments – Refreshments are available following worship in the Gathering Space, just outside the Worship Space. Please take this opportunity to sit and chat with friends or family, relax, discuss the day’s message, and connect with others.
