Wednesday Worship Update

Thanks to modernity, we are still able to worship together while we are unable to gather for worship in person! While we practice social distancing, we long for connection to one another and to God. Our Saviour’s is here to help!

If you’d like to keep the rhythm of Wednesday night Lenten worship, we’ve put a link to a video of Holden Evening Prayer on our Facebook page and our website. While this was filmed during Advent, the John 1 scripture theme of Light in the darkness is quite appropriate for Lent. The reading from Parker Palmer’s The Risk of Incarnation also has some resonance for today. I encourage you to listen to it. In future weeks, if you’d like to skip that reading, simply skip to 10:05 and observe a moment of silent prayer or meditation until the music begins again.

We hope that this worship opportunity provides nourishment for your soul as well as a reminder that you are not alone – you are connected to God, to the body of Christ, and to your faith community at Our Saviour’s.

Shortly before 5:30 pm on Wednesday evenings, we’ll do a brief Facebook Live to let you know it’s almost time for worship. Click to access the YouTube link, and sing along! Click Holden Evening Prayer for a pdf of the words.

Your church staff is working on ways to help us all connect during this time, and ways to serve any needs you may have. We’re reaching out directly, but if you have a need and we haven’t contacted you yet, please reach out to us! You can contact staff via email, as many are working from home in order to do our part to flatten the curve for the sake of our neighbors and the medical system.

Ministry continues and new ways of Reaching Out with a Voice of Hope are being created! Your financial support of our ministry together is much appreciated in this unusual time. To give or to enroll in automatic giving, go to  God is at work in the world, and we get to share that hope!
